Webinar "Innovation Days 2020"
Materias participated in the Innovation Days 2020 event, the final webinar of Il Sole 24 ORE's journey through the excellence of the territory. The protagonist of the event with more than 1800 online participants was Professor Nicolais. The themes at the center of the debate were the new challenges and the objectives of Italy's restart.
Online workshop with the Institute of Polymers
This morning took place the online workshop held by President Luigi Nicolais with the Institute of Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials (IPCB) CNR National Research Council, headed by Professor Luigi Ambrosio. Several issues discussed: the value of research not only in academia but also aimed at the creation of products ready for the market, and the concept of failure, poorly tolerated in our country, but considered a resilience rating in the United States.
11th edition of the National Innovation Award
Professor Nicolais participates in the 11th edition of the National Innovation Award, "Prize of Prizes", established by the decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of 7 April 2008 at the National Foundation for Technological Innovation Cotec Italy. The event took place this morning, for the first time online, with the participation of the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, together with the Minister for Public Administration, Fabiana Dadone, and the Minister for Technological Innovation and Digitalization, Paola Pisano.
MilanoHub
Our startup is the first company to join MilanoHub, the new innovation center for the digital transition of the Italian financial system, designed by the Bank of Italy and presented today at an online press conference by Governor Ignazio Visco. Materias's goal is to focus on game-changing innovation, an innovation that Americans would say disruptive, capable of changing the rules of the game and also creating new ones.

This morning in the context of the webinar promoted by ANCI, Professor Nicolais, chairman of the Scientific Technical Committee, presented in collaboration with Technogenetics, with Genegis GI - Geographical Intelligence and Materias the position paper of the Scientific Technical Committee of which he is president. In the first place the need to monitor the population with a tool in real-time, without being trapped in the long times typical of bureaucracy.
XXXIV edition of Remote Future
President Nicolais introduced the inaugural event of the XXXIV edition of Remote Future, which this year took place online (https://www.futuroremoto2020.it/). The event was attended by all the top institutional positions in research, universities, schools and Italian and international science in order to discuss the epochal changes and global challenges of our society.

Materias awarded at the Fiera Del Levante in Bari as a model of circular bioeconomy as part of the Hackaton Circular Economy Action promoted by the Center for Sustainability and the Center for Innovation and Creativity of the University of Bari and by Confindustria Puglia, in the context of the initiatives of the public notice "Puglia Partecipa", issued by the Puglia Region. the Materias award to VESevo, “Viscoelasticity Evaluation System - EVOlved”
Innovation Village Award 2020: today our CEO Caterina Meglio presented the Materias award to VESevo, “Viscoelasticity Evaluation System - EVOlved”. Their project is the result of the research activity of the Vehicle Dynamic Simulations group of the University of Naples "Federico II", in collaboration with the academic spin-off 'MegaRide - Applied Vehicle Research'. This is a technology already used in Formula 1 and MotoGP that allows you to predict the behavior of the tire and the entire vehicle through a device.
III edition of LEbiotec
Materias participated with the project manager Aniello Cammarano in the third edition of LEbiotec, an event promoted by the Didactic Council of the degree courses in Biotechnology and Medical Biotechnology and Nano biotechnology of the University of Salento, focused on topics such as biotechnology, innovation and the job. Materias illustrated his business model based on scouting, InCoMing (Incubation, Co-working and Merging) and acceleration of innovative ideas in the field of advanced materials applied to the biotechnology sector.

Webinar "Guaranteeing health in Phase 2"
The webinar "Guaranteeing health in Phase 2" promoted by Materias on the Cisco platform and coordinated by Professor Luigi Nicolais, President of the Scientific Technical Committee, was held with exponents of the biotechnology industry, university and research representatives and safety professionals at work. The so-called Phase 2 requires innovative tools to ensure adequate health surveillance. The resumption of work and social activities cannot be separated from the detection of infections (especially asymptomatic) and from the geolocalized map of positive cases. Two levels of surveillance that respond to well-defined tools: platforms for monitoring antibodies and software for reporting potentially infected subjects. Finally, rigorous processing of data will create the conditions for planning the future responsibly.

Materias is among the private partners of EUvsVirus, the pan-European hackathon promoted by the EU Commission to connect civil society, innovators, partners and investors from across Europe in order to develop innovative solutions to the challenges related to the Coronavirus. The appointment for the Opening Ceremony is today at 5 pm, while the hackathon will take place until Sunday 26 April. Materias is enrolled in the Health & Life challenge, where researchers and experts from all over Europe will discuss how to optimize a series of health initiatives to make the weapons we have against the virus more effective: hardware, support for front-line health workers, telemedicine, strategies contact tracking/containment.

Agreement between Materias and EUREKA! Venture SGR
Agreement today between Materias chaired by Luigi Nicolais and EUREKA! Venture SGR chaired by Luigi Amati, the first independent venture capital in Italy specializing exclusively in deeptech investments. The agreement provides for the possibility of co-investing in the tech transfer initiatives presented by Materias through the "Eureka! Fund I - Technology Transfer ", which has a collection target of at least 50 million euros and makes use of the partnership between the European Investment Fund and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti, as well as the support of InnovFin Equity and the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI). The operation was conducted by the board of Materias and by Stefano Peroncini, chief executive officer of Eureka.
